Transformation Season

We have a lot to learn
from the autumn trees.
How beautiful it is
when they let go.

Autumn is here in the northern hemisphere, and changes are abound. Maybe you feel it in your exterior world, with changing colors and cooler temperatures. Maybe you feel it in your interior world, as the invisible energy of transformation guides you toward letting go of things it’s time to let go of, things that no longer serve you. It’s hard to let go, right? Even if the right thing is to let go, we get so accustomed to the way things are. Change is exciting but also scary. Change is work. While the universe may push us into these changes, may ask us to loosen our grip and to sway in the wind for awhile, the transformation that occurs as a result is the part that is uncomfortable; what lies on the other side is unknown. Where will we land? I think that specific fear has a really cool counter though. It isn’t really just about who we will be when it’s over. The act of transforming is itself beautiful. The act of letting go creates a sort of swirling of contrasting emotions, and the experience itself is lovely in its difficulty. Even if it’s “ugly.” I read not long ago about how ‘we shouldn’t have to see beauty in life’s difficulties, that sometimes it’s just ugly.’ I guess I feel like that is missing the point. The growth is the beauty, being alive after a fucking storm inside of ourselves, that is the thing. That is something. That’s what I’ve been thinking about this transformation season, and I wanted to share it with you. Thank you @hellomynameislove for your inspiration and light in creating this.
