The Instinctual Road

Two roads diverged
in my mind
and I listened
to my body
to decide.

You know that poem “The Road Less Traveled” by Robert Frost? This is a remix that is more about listening to your body and your instincts when making a big decision. Usually, decision-making is associated with rationalizing and weighing pros and cons and carefully analyzing, but one ignored part of decision-making should also be your gut feeling. What is the natural road to take, and why might your body be telling you to go that way. It is something to consider, and something I have been trying to pay more attention to lately. After spending a little time with my lovely canvas Dharma, I realized she is also in this journey, letting her instincts be a guide for her decisions instead of letting rationality be the sole guide. It’s a beautiful thing about us, humans, that we have the brain power to think things through. Yet our power to think then takes over completely, and our instinctual side is often forgotten. I’m just saying, don’t forget about it. There’s a lot our bodies know, a lot in the process of how we function that has its own answers for us. All we have to do is listen.
