FLUYE / BODY DIALOG

I don’t need to pray
with my eyes closed
anymore. Anywhere
my body want to go
it will go.

Open, opening, a door swivels,
no back, front, around an axis
opened into outward. All we speak
is edible. The body so many mouths.

In the belly
of desire
the key
to salvation
sleeps

MODEL: Rebecca is 39, from Portland, Oregon. Her body was made to live the way she chooses, even if she isn’t having children, even if she changed her mind about every decision a thousand times. We are so grateful for the contemporary world.   *Note: This is the first episode of Skin on Sundays where the world has begun participating in the glorious world of writing poetry on skin, aka #skinprinting. The first poem was written by me, the second by the model’s lover, and the third by the model herself, all reflecting on the recent news and emotional aftermath of learning she could not have children.
